Avon Marketing : Cold market vs Warm Market

July 27, 2013

Before joining a MLM or a business, you need to know who your market is going to be. When your in Avon and just became a new representative, you must establish a market and a system to organize who you are going to sell your products to. It’s okay to start off with your friends and family but after a while, you must think about who are you going to market to next after you contacted all of them. This is why one of the most fundamental principles of network marketing is generating leads daily. Generating leads on a regular day to day basis is key and increases your chances of getting more sales and potential customers. Don’t just sell to your warm market; getting your friends and family to spread the word of you selling your Avon products helps out a great deal too.

Warm market: friends and family.

As a new representative, it’s best to start off with your warm market. Your warm market is people you personally know including friends, family and neighbors. Your warm market can be a good starting. As a personal recommendation, after 7 to 14 days, try to get your warm market to spread the word and try to generate leads by means of either offline or online prospecting. One of the best reasons why you should try to prospect and get new customers is because after a while your friends and family are going to get tired of hearing about your business. Those are  people you do not want to stress out, especially those in your personal life. Is having a warm market bad ? No. It’s just something good to have in the beginning. To sum it all up having your warm market is ok but don’t stress them out.

Cold market : Other people outside your personal contacts

A cold market on the other hand is people who you never met in your life and you want them to be your potential customers. Many successful Avon reps didn’t make significant quantities of income by just pushing their products on their friends and family. Prospecting is one of the key methods of turning people you never met before into either recruits or customers for your business; thus turning the cold market into your warm market. For those who are not comfortable with going out in stores crowded with people, you have the option to try to grow your business online by either creating your own website or blog along with the use of social media. If you are comfortable with offline marketing however, you can market via business cards, fliers, drop cards, website referral and posters. To turn a cold market into part of your warm market, try to reach out to people and be a representative who wants to solve a customer’s problems. People buy from other people they trust, not random salesmen/saleswomen.

Conclusion.

So, if you want to successful time promoting and selling your products you need to start off with people you personally know and meet new people along the way. Provide solutions to those who are need in things related to your business like cosmetic needs, an extra stream of income or an affordable place to buy clothes. Avon is more than just makeup and cosmetics. Target different customers with different needs. In conclusion, the more people you spread the word to, the more potential buyers and customers you will have and your chances of business success will grow.
